Throughout his career, Bernie has generously given of himself to charities and worthy causes. The Bernie Nicholls Foundation has raised funds for organizations such as the Unforgettables Foundation (which offers financial assistance to families that can’t afford a funeral for their child) and Bernie has consistently participated in charity driven sporting events in Golf and Hockey.
In addition to providing leadership, consulting, and coaching services to the NHL since his retirement as a player, Bernie has focused his efforts on Business and Venture Development for a number of successful organizations. These includeThe Global Finance Sports Financial Exchange (a stock market powered by blockchain technology that, instead of selling shares in companies, allows investors the opportunity to buy “shares” of professional sports teams), and recently BetRegal (the ‘Official Sports Gaming Partner of the CFL), amongst others.
Bernie now joins the Business Development team at Mobil Fund Inc. as a valued asset and partner. His leadership, wealth of experience, in-depth industry knowledge, and ability to leverage sporting relationships will prove to be a formidable benefit to the company and to the Charities the company serves.
Morris has enjoyed a successful professional hockey career in the WHA and NHL playing for the Houston Aeros (WHA) and the Winnipeg Jets (WHA/NHL), Boston Bruins (NHL) and L.A. Kings (NHL). The highlights of his career included playing with the likes of Bobby Hull (The Golden Jet) and his childhood idol, Gordie Howe (Mr. Hockey). Morris credits Gordie Howe’s influence as being instrumental in the successful development of his career. He also went on to captain the Winnipeg Jets and to represent Canada internationally in both Switzerland and Italy. Morris is also a member of the NHL Alumni Association and as such participates in various charity hockey events nowadays such as Hockey Helps The Homeless.
After Morris’s retirement from the NHL, he naturally progressed to develop and form a specialized personal development system and business aptly named The Maximum Goal Scoring System. Participants are focused on maximizing personal excellence and accomplishment as well as leadership skills. In a practical athletic sense applied to hockey, participants learn to “maximize scoring goals in hockey like an NHL’er”.
Professional athleticism runs in the Lukowich family with both brother Ed (World Curling Champion) and nephew Brad (NHL hockey player) sharing the status. Post NHL, brothers Ed and Morris created an organization called Corporate Pro Star Challenge that creates and leads Corporate Team Building / Leadership Events. The hockey or curling events focus on developing the leadership skills and team relationships of the participants in a fun and competitive environment.
He has also been involved in the successful promotion and development of several ventures including a revolutionary line of LED lighting products with a focus on enhancing fan experiences in venues hosting professional sports events and concerts.
Morris has a tremendous amount of experience in Leadership Coaching and Leadership Styles. He has a wealth of knowledge in personal development, discovery, and achievement. These skills will serve Morris and Mobil Fund well as he forges ahead in his role of developing new business and relationships on behalf of the company.
